Custodian (Lansingburgh FRC)

Location: Lansingburgh, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Custodian at our Lansingburgh Family Resource Center. This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and follows a 12 month schedule.

Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining the internal and external cleanliness of CEO’s facilities. Responsibilities include sweeping/vacuuming, mopping; garbage removal; performing minor maintenance requests; assisting in performing outside maintenance and landscaping as needed, to include snow removal and lawn care; assisting with special projects as needed, to include carpet cleaning, buffing/waxing floors and painting.

 Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and previous experience in a custodial position or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid driver’s license required.

Community Health Worker

Location: Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Community Health Worker in Troy, NY.

Responsibilities: This position will require the Community Health Worker to provide support and education to members who need assistance obtaining routine medical care and/or preventative health screenings. The Community Health Worker will identify barriers that prevent members from successfully receiving health care services and provide guidance in those areas. This position will also provide community resource referrals and educational information to members as needed. In addition, the community health worker will track each member’s progress while on the program by utilizing program specific forms and spreadsheets. Such progress will be reported on a weekly basis. Lastly, the Community Health Worker will take part in planning and attending community events throughout the year.  Valid driver license required.

Qualifications: Associate’s Degree plus applicable experience providing service Coordination and/or Case Management. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required, HIPAA and established confidentiality practices associated with health care preferred.

Substitute Teacher Assistants

CEO is seeking Substitute Teacher Assistants for our Early Childhood facilities located throughout Rensselaer Country. This is an on-call position.

Location:  All Rensselaer County CEO facility locations

Classification:  Non-Exempt

Responsibilities:  To work on an on-call basis, assisting teachers with classroom management in infant, toddler and preschool setting.

Qualifications:  High School diploma or GED and experience working with young children required.  Must be at least 18 years of age.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teachers

CEO is seeking New York State certified teaching candidates for Universal Pre-Kindergarten Head Start classrooms at the following locations:

Troy Family Resource Center, Troy– 35 hours, 10 month position

Lansingburgh Family Resource Center, Troy – 35 hours, 10 month position

Troy City School District, Troy – 35 hours, 10 month position

Cambridge Central School District, Cambridge – 30 hours (Temporary position), no benefits

Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for preschool children, meeting UPK School District requirements (including Common Core Standards) while working collaboratively with the teacher assistant, School District staff, and service providers.

Minimum qualifications: A baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education with experience teaching preschool-age children and ability to obtain NYS Pre-K teaching certification.

Preferred: NYS Pre-K teaching certification and experience working with pre-school aged children.

CEO has openings for full-time Infant and Toddler Teachers for our Head Start/Early Head Start Program at the following locations:

Rensselaer Family Resource Center (Infant Teacher), Rensselaer – 35 hours, 10 month position

Schodack Family Resource Center (Toddler Teacher), Nassau – 35 hours, 49 week position

Responsibilities: Promote children’s development and learning through the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Use age-appropriate and positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect inappropriate classroom behavior.  Build positive relationships with staff and families through positive and professional communication, creating a welcoming environment, respecting diversity, and encouraging parent participation in the center.  Work collaboratively with the co-teacher and service providers.

Qualifications: AAS or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Infant/Toddler CDA required. Must possess knowledge of Infant/Toddler child development and family interaction. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license for home visits required.

Teacher Assistants

Location: Troy, NY

Responsibilities: To provide coverage in various classrooms/age groups. Assist the teacher with classroom management, promote children’s development and learning through developmentally appropriate curriculum.  May assist in the completion of required classroom paperwork.  Use positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect inappropriate classroom behavior.

 Please note: CEO facilitates Child Development Associate (CDA) courses on-site for selected candidates, who are required to obtain a CDA Credential within their first year of employment.

Construction Crew Chief

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Crew Chief for our Healthy Homes Program. CEO’s Healthy Homes services help families and individuals maintain safe and comfortable housing.  Energy efficiency and home improvement services focus on keeping homes affordable and safe.

Responsibilities: Supervision of the energy services crew members.  Perform weatherization techniques that ensure greater energy efficiency for each unit serviced, up to and including installation/repair of windows and doors, blown-in insulation and air sealing measures.  Strong organizational skills required to document all aspects of a project, such as the materials utilized and the monitoring of equipment.  Ability to problem solve issues that may arise, ultimately ensuring the proper completion of work scopes.

Candidate will be required to obtain specified certifications (employer sponsored).

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, three years of residential construction experience (i.e. installing windows, doors and finish work).  Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand tools.  Two years supervisory experience and ability to travel to complete certification courses.  Clean NYS Driver’s license required.  BPI certification a plus.

VISTA Volunteer

CEO is seeking a VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) volunteer to support the CEO’s YouthBuild Program. This position will focus on fund development activities, by securing funding and donations from non-federal sources to enhance program outcomes through the creation of partnerships leading to placement opportunities for the youth enrolled, improve access to Mental Health services, and to raise awareness of the positive impact the program has in the community.

A VISTA Volunteer receives a paid stipend, health benefits and must commit a year of full time service to help develop a lasting solution to the project goals by supporting the infrastructure that strengthens the program with the ultimate goal of helping low-income people overcome poverty.

The qualified candidate must have strong communication skills, be well-organized and meet demanding deadlines, be a self-starter and lead projects independently and experience in Education and Youth Development fields.

The VISTA volunteer will be eligible for a bi-weekly stipend of $455.67, a healthcare allowance, health coverage, optional life-insurance, and the choice of an Education Award or End of Service Stipend. The successful candidate must complete the VISTA volunteer process including application and background checks.
