Construction Crew Member

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Crew Member for our Healthy Homes Program.

Responsibilities:  Installation of energy efficient retrofits from a designated work scope.  Installation of insulation materials, spray foam and air sealing measures.  Ability to lift and load construction materials.  Working knowledge of basic carpentry skills and use of hand tools.  Ability to take direction and work independently.

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years working in residential construction and a clean NYS Driver’s license.

Teacher Assistant (Rensselaer)

Location:  Rensselaer, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Teacher Assistant. This position is located within a school district Universal Pre-K classroom in Rensselaer. Position operates on a 10 month school calendar, and is Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities:  To assist in all classroom activities with children.  Promote children’s development and learning through developmentally appropriate curriculum. Assist in the completion of required classroom paperwork. Use positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect inappropriate classroom behavior. This position is required to serve as a bus monitor for the afternoon bus run. Monitor duties include riding the bus and assisting with the drop off of children.

Please note: CEO facilitates Child Development Associate (CDA) courses on-site for selected candidates, who are required to obtain a CDA Credential within their first year of employment.

Qualifications:  High School diploma or GED and previous experience working with young children.  Must be at least 18 years of age.

Community Connections Specialist

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO is seeking a Community Connections Specialist.  This position is 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  The Community Connections Specialist will work with a variety of programs within CEO. This position will be responsible to perform a wide range of duties, including but not limited to direct service to customers, community engagement and outreach, and coordinating volunteer and intern placement within CEO.

Qualifications:  Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years of direct service or outreach experience, excellent written and communication skills, exceptional organization skills and highly detail oriented. Valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred:  Associates in Human Services or related field preferred, 4 plus years of direct service or outreach experience.

Teacher Assistants

CEO has openings for full-time and part-time Teacher Assistants for our Head Start/Early Head Start Program for the 2017-2018 school year.

VISTA Community Engagement and Communications Associate

CEO is seeking a VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) volunteer to support CEO’s ESPRI (Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative) Project.  This position is 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and will support all aspects of The ESPRI Project for one year (effective, November 2017).  Candidate will provide assistance by developing outreach initiatives, community engagement, building partnerships, identifying needs, communicating with stakeholders, and supporting the implementation of project plans.

The qualified candidate must have strong communication skills, be well-organized and meet demanding deadlines, be a self-starter and lead projects independently.

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Communications or similar preferred.  Experience working in human services or in people-oriented setting preferred.  Experience working with persons experiencing poverty preferred.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teachers

Location: Troy, NY

CEO is seeking New York State certified teaching candidates for Universal Pre-Kindergarten Head Start classrooms for the 2017-2018 school year.

Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for preschool children, meeting UPK School District requirements (including Common Core Standards) while working collaboratively with the teacher assistant, School District staff, and service providers.

Minimum qualifications: A baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education with experience teaching preschool-age children and ability to obtain NYS Pre-K teaching certification.

Preferred:  NYS Pre-K teaching certification and experience working with pre-school aged children.

Youth Peer Advocate

Location: Troy, NY

CEO is seeking a young adult (between the ages 18 and 30) to function as a member of a team and deliver youth peer support and training services to other young adults. Youth peer support and training services are formal and informal services provided to youth who are experiencing social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges in their home, school, placement, and/or community centered programs. These services provide the training and support necessary for the youth to engage and actively participate in their service/treatment planning process and with the ongoing implementation and reinforcement of skills learned throughout service access.

Please note:  Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain a Youth Peer Advocate Credential. To obtain the Youth Peer Advocate Credential the qualified individual must be between the ages of 18 and 30 and be a young adult who has had emotional and/or behavioral challenges as well as experience in receiving services from one or more children’s mental health providers or programs.

Qualifications:  High School diploma or equivalent with knowledge of community resources. Strong sensitivity and respect for cultural differences present among staff and customers of the agency and program. Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills. Possess a strong belief in people’s ability to grow and change and to form a strong partnership with persons served and their family. Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook a plus. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.

Family Peer Advocate

CEO is seeking a Family Peer Advocate to provide an array of formal and informal support services to families caring for or raising a child who is experiencing social, emotional, developmental, medical, substance use and/or behavioral challenges in their home, school, placement and/or community. Candidate will be encouraged to establish structured, strengths-based relationships with the parent/caregiver for the benefit of the child/youth.

Please note: Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain the NYS Family Peer Advocate Credential. To obtain the Family Peer Advocate Credential the qualified individual must be a parent/caregiver of a child with an emotional and/or behavioral challenge.

Qualifications:  High School diploma or equivalent with knowledge of community resources. WIC Vendor Management Auditor

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time auditor for our WIC Vendor Management Program located in Troy, NY.  This program is responsible for providing support to applying and authorized vendors; concentrating on ensuring compliance with all state/federal requirements.  This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  The auditor will be responsible for conducting inventory audits ensuring that records submitted by vendors are accurate and completed within a timely manner.  This position is also responsible for completing detailed reports on audit findings and screening/reporting any fraudulent activities.

Qualifications:  Associate’s degree in a Business related field with at least 2 years of accounting and/or auditing experience. Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Suites with a concentration in Excel.  Clean NYS Driver’s License required. Bilingual a plus.

Substitute Custodians

Location:  All CEO facility locations

Classification:  Non-Exempt

CEO is seeking substitute custodians for all of our CEO facilities located throughout Rensselaer County.  This is an on-call position working at multiple childcare centers and administrative offices.

Responsibilities:  Responsibilities to include sweeping/vacuuming, mopping; garbage removal; performing minor maintenance requests; assisting in performing outside maintenance and landscaping as needed, to include snow removal and lawn care; assisting with special projects as needed, to include carpet cleaning, buffing/waxing floors and painting. 

Qualifications:  High School diploma or GED and previous experience in facilities maintenance and custodial duties.  Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred.

Transitional Services Coordinator

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Transitional Services Coordinator (TSC) for our YouthBuild Program in Troy, NY.  This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  The Transitional Services Coordinator (TSC) will help implement the mission of CEO’s YouthBuild Program by developing the skills of “at-risk” youth enabling them to advocate, plan, and pursue their own educational and career goals.  The primary responsibilities of the TSC are to provide professional developmental and job readiness training to currently enrolled members and to assist alumni members with making successful transitions from the program into employment and/or advanced training.  Candidate must have knowledge of community resources to provide case management, advocacy, linkage and referral services. The TSC must be able to develop relationships with employers, educational and training institutions through classroom instruction, job coaching, and case management. This position requires occasional home visits, out of town travel and availability after hours.  Data entry of case notes and quarterly reporting are also essential functions.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in counseling or related human services field.  Ability to maintain a flexible schedule as needed to meet members’ needs (occasional evening/weekend hours).  Minimum of two years of relevant case management experience; experience in youth development work and experience leading group discussions or teaching classes preferred. Clean NYS Driver’s License required.

Construction Crew Chief

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Construction Crew Chief for our Healthy Homes Program.  Healthy Homes focuses on helping families and individuals maintain safe and comfortable housing with energy efficiency and home improvement upgrades. This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  Daily supervision of construction crew members.  Perform weatherization techniques that ensure greater energy efficiency for each unit serviced, up to and including installation/repair of windows and doors, blown-in insulation and air sealing measures.  Strong organizational skills required to document all aspects of a project, such as the materials utilized and the monitoring of equipment.  Ability to problem solve issues that may arise, ultimately ensuring the proper completion of work scopes.

Candidate will be required to obtain specified certifications (employer sponsored).

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent, three years of residential construction experience (i.e. installing windows, doors and finish work).  Two years supervisory experience and ability to travel to complete certification courses.  Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand tools.   Clean NYS Driver’s license required.  BPI certification a plus.

Substitute Teacher Assistants

Location:  All Rensselaer County CEO facility locations

Classification:  Non-Exempt

CEO is seeking Substitute Teacher Assistants for our Early Childhood facilities located throughout Rensselaer Country. This is an on-call position.

Responsibilities:  To work on an on-call basis, assisting teachers with classroom management in infant, toddler and preschool setting.

Qualifications:  High School diploma or GED and experience working with young children required.  Must be at least 18 years of age.
