Construction Crew Member

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Crew Member for our Healthy Homes Program.

Responsibilities:  Installation of energy efficient retrofits from a designated work scope.  Installation of insulation materials, spray foam and air sealing measures.  Ability to lift and load construction materials.  Working knowledge of basic carpentry skills and use of hand tools.  Ability to take direction and work independently.

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years working in residential construction and a clean NYS Driver’s license.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teachers

Location: Troy, NY

CEO is seeking New York State certified teaching candidates for Universal Pre-Kindergarten Head Start classrooms for the 2017-2018 school year.

Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program for preschool children, meeting UPK School District requirements (including Common Core Standards) while working collaboratively with the teacher assistant, School District staff, and service providers.

Minimum qualifications: A baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education with experience teaching preschool-age children and ability to obtain NYS Pre-K teaching certification.

Preferred:  NYS Pre-K teaching certification and experience working with pre-school aged children.

Substitute Custodians

Location:  All CEO facility locations

Classification:  Non-Exempt

CEO is seeking substitute custodians for all of our CEO facilities located throughout Rensselaer County.  This is an on-call position working at multiple childcare centers and administrative offices.

Responsibilities:  Responsibilities to include sweeping/vacuuming, mopping; garbage removal; performing minor maintenance requests; assisting in performing outside maintenance and landscaping as needed, to include snow removal and lawn care; assisting with special projects as needed, to include carpet cleaning, buffing/waxing floors and painting. 

Qualifications:  High School diploma or GED and previous experience in facilities maintenance and custodial duties.  Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred.

Custodian

Location:  Lansingburgh, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Custodian at our Lansingburgh Family Resource Center.  This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  Responsible for maintaining the internal and external cleanliness of CEO’s Lansingburgh Family Resource Center.  Responsibilities include sweeping/vacuuming, mopping; garbage removal; performing minor maintenance requests; assisting in performing outside maintenance and landscaping as needed, to include snow removal and lawn care; assisting with special projects as needed, to include carpet cleaning, buffing/waxing floors and painting.

 Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED and previous experience in a custodial position or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Valid driver’s license required.

Preschool Teacher

Location:  Hoosick Falls, NY

CEO has an opening for a full-time Preschool Teacher at our Hoosick Falls Family Resource Center.  This position is 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am to 3:30pm and follows a 10 month school year calendar.

Responsibilities:  Promote children’s development and learning through the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.  Use age-appropriate and positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect inappropriate classroom behavior.  Build positive relationships with staff and families through positive and professional communication, creating a welcoming environment, respecting diversity, and encouraging parent participation in the center.

Qualifications:  AAS or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and previous experience working with children.  Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations preferred.

Human Resources Recruiter

Location:  Troy, NY

CEO has an opening for a part-time Recruiter for our Human Resources Department.  This position follows a 20 hour per week schedule.

Responsibilities:  We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Recruiter to become a member of our team.  The Recruiter will collaborate with managers on open positions and provide support during the recruitment process.   Candidate will be responsible for creating and posting jobs, sourcing and screening candidates, scheduling interviews, reference checks, background checks and conducting job offers.  Must also engage in creative sourcing by attending job fairs and find creative avenues to assist the recruitment process. Communicate regularly with HR team with updates about open positions and candidate status.

Qualifications:  Candidate must possess 3-5 years of relevant Human Resources recruiting experience or a relevant combination of education and HR recruiting experience. Must possess computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and recruit with a sense of urgency.  Valid NYS driver’s license and daily access to a personal vehicle is required.

Early Childhood Behavior Interventionist

Location:  Troy, NY

Classification:  Non-Exempt

CEO is seeking a candidate to act as a substitute Behavior Interventionist for our Early Childhood Services Program.  This position is temporary, 35 hours per week, 7:30am – 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, and follows a 10 month calendar.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or a related field (i.e. Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or Elementary Education). Prior experience working with preschool age children with challenging behaviors as well as developing and implementing behavior plans. Clean driver’s license and access to a vehicle required.

Pre-Employment Requirement:  Please note that applicants for certain positions may be required to complete standard background clearances, which may include fingerprints, New York State Child Abuse clearances, a physical, TB Test, and / or pre-employment drug screen.

Construction Crew Chief

CEO has an opening for a full-time Construction Crew Chief for our Healthy Homes Program.  This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  Daily supervision of construction crew members.  Perform weatherization techniques that ensure greater energy efficiency for each unit serviced, up to and including installation/repair of windows and doors, blown-in insulation and air sealing measures.  Strong organizational skills required to document all aspects of a project, such as the materials utilized and the monitoring of equipment.  Ability to problem solve issues that may arise, ultimately ensuring the proper completion of work scopes.

Candidate will be required to obtain specified certifications (employer sponsored).

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent, three years of residential construction experience (i.e. installing windows, doors and finish work).  Two years supervisory experience and ability to travel to complete certification courses.  Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand tools.   Clean NYS Driver’s license required.  BPI certification a plus.

Fiscal/Accounting Assistant

CEO is seeking a Fiscal/Accounting Assistant who will be responsible for completing a wide variety of administrative and accounting functions to support the daily operations of the finance department. This position is up to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  We are looking for a Fiscal/Accounting Assistant that will take on responsibility for the input and review of accounting batches for cash receipts, vouchers and general ledgers.  Candidate will coordinate bi-weekly stipend payments for several of CEO’s programs.  Will also be responsible for coordinating accounts payable and purchase order processing. Must organize annual 1099 reporting and verify qualifying vendors, transactions and pertinent information.  The accounting specialist will perform all reasonably related duties as assigned to support the functions of the finance department or agency mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Accounting/Business or several years’ experience working in an office environment with assigned data entry and bookkeeping responsibilities.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite with a concentration in Excel.

  • Ability to use abstract reasoning, problem solving, planning, and analytical skills while completing assigned duties.
  • Must have ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and possess the ability to work at a fast pace.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field and at least two or more years’ experience working in an office environment with assigned data entry and bookkeeping responsibilities. Experience using Fund E-Z non-profit accounting software.

Teacher Assistant

Foster Grandparent Program Coordinator

CEO is looking for a Foster Grandparent Coordinator to oversee the Foster Grandparent Program.  This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:  This position will be responsible for the supervision of staff, recruitment and placement of senior volunteers into educational settings, reporting, conducting site visits within four counties and planning events for senior volunteer recognition.

Qualifications:  Associate’s degree in Human Services, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; 3 years of previous supervisory experience.  Previous case management experience and a clean driver’s license required.

Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.

Substitute Teacher Assistants

Location:  All Rensselaer County CEO facility locations

Classification:  Non-Exempt

CEO is seeking Substitute Teacher Assistants for our Early Childhood facilities located throughout Rensselaer Country. This is an on-call position.

Responsibilities:  To work on an on-call basis, assisting teachers with classroom management in infant, toddler and preschool setting.

Qualifications:  High School diploma or GED and experience working with young children required.  Must be at least 18 years of age.
