Funds to Support Ongoing Urban Training Center Building Project

Troy, NY – Friday, November 21, 2014 – Joining other recently announced financial supporters, Cohoes Savings Foundation has awarded CEO with a $9,500 grant to support CEO’s Urban Training Center. The funds will be used to purchase new workstations for Youthbuild and computers for the YouthBuild Educational training lab.

The Urban Training Center will serve to provide critical programs, like YouthBuild and the Weatherization Assistance Program, with the resources they need to enhance their daily operations, while relocating them to a more centralized location in Troy. This move will expand the reach of these programs by making them more easily-accessible to residents who walk or rely on public transportation; bolstering the City of Troy as a major hub for assistance and services for low-income individuals and families; and finally, bringing current customers closer to other services from which they could benefit, offered by both CEO and other near-by human service organizations.

“At the Cohoes Savings Foundation, we believe education is the key to allowing individuals to become self-supporting”, said the Foundation Executive Director, Jacqueline Brennan. “Our donation will provide five new workstations, giving YouthBuild participants access to resources they might not otherwise have, enriching their overall educational experience and supporting skill development in the area of technology – skills that will help them secure employment in today’s competitive job market.”
