Troy, NY – Friday, September 30, 2016 – The U.S. Department of Labor recently announced $80.3 million in YouthBuild grants to non profits in 35 states. CEO’s YouthBuild was awarded $972,000 to continue working with at risk youth in our community. YouthBuild is a workforce development program for young people ages 16 to 24 that offers job training, education and case management to assist participants in removing barriers to employment. Participants have the opportunity to complete their high school equivalency, while also learning construction skills and earning certifications that may help them find employment after the program.
“We are thrilled to receive the YouthBuild grant award”, said Katherine Maciol, President/CEO of CEO. “The funding will allow us to serve fifty-four youth over the next two years. The program is a shining light for the youth of our city as they work to make positive changes in their lives. It will provide them with the support, education and training necessary to build a career track and allow them many opportunities to volunteer and serve their community.”
