Press Conference: CEO’s YouthBuild to Partner with Habitat for Humanity on Fox Hollow Project
Posted February 26, 2013On Thursday, February 28th, Tom Mueller, CEO’s YouthBuild Program Manager, and CEO’s YouthBuild program participants will join Michael Jacobson, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Capital District (HfHCD), and the HfHCD crew for a live press event at the Fox Hollow Project building site of 711 Burden Avenue in Troy. The two bedroom, two bath home is being sponsored by the Seymour Fox Memorial Foundation, which manages the estate of the late Troy attorney for whom the “Fox Hollow” project is named.
The press event is being held to commemorate the partnership between CEO’s YouthBuild program and Habitat for Humanity Capital District. The YouthBuild program supports young adults ages 16-24 who have struggled in a traditional educational setting. The program allows participants to further their education, receive mentorship, and learn hands-on job skills while earning construction trade certifications. Participants gain valuable experience by building houses for lower-income families.
CEO’s representatives anticipate a fruitful collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Capital District, which has been dedicated to building safe, affordable housing for low-income families since 1988. HfHCD and the Seymour Fox Memorial Foundation are proud to be able to offer YouthBuild participants a dedicated learning environment at the Habitat construction site. Both CEO and HfHCD aim to give people the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty through their own hard work and perseverance.
