Head Start and Early Head Start
At CEO, we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life. That is why we are proud to offer Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Head Start and Early Head Start prepare children for school by offering safe and enjoyable childcare which incorporates learning and social/emotional skill development. Children learn the “Kindergarten readiness” skills they need to do well in school.
Early Head Start serves children from six weeks to three years old. Early Head Start children are assessed on a regular basis to make sure that they are meeting their learning goals. Early Head start prepares infants and toddlers for success at an early age, teaching them skills they will use in Head Start and beyond.
Head Start serves children from three to five years old, with a focus on developing the emotional, language and physical skills they will use in school. If your child or children attend(s), you will be involved every step of the way, sharing in the joy of watching them grow.
Family Engagement
We promote school readiness of children ages birth to five by supporting the development of the whole child, which include promoting and supporting family well-being. Parents and families are supported in achieving their own goals. We support and strengthen parent-child relationships and engage families around children’s learning and development.
CEO began the Fatherhood Initiative in 2008 as a part of Head Start and Early Head Start. Its goal is to inspire dads and father-figures to become more active in their children’s lives. The program encourages participation in classroom and after school events. All family members are welcome to participate in Fatherhood Initiative Events.
Babies in Waiting
To give children the best start possible even before they are born, CEO offers the Babies in Waiting program. This program offers services and support to eligible pregnant women. These services include pregnancy and childbirth classes, family development and consultations with a nurse.
These supports assure that mom and baby are well taken care of throughout the pregnancy and after. When women complete Babies in Waiting, their babies are eligible for enrollment in CEO’s Early Head Start program.
