Each year, CEO hosts a number of community activities and events.
These events promote the work of CEO and our community partners, while raising awareness of the needs and struggles of children and families living in poverty in Rensselaer County and recognizing the achievements of those striving to change their lives.

During the month of May, Community Action Month, CEO embarks on a number of community based activities that share the stories of those served, putting a face on those impacted by poverty as well as the individuals helping them build their lives, while promoting our programs, services, and community partnerships.

This May, CEO will be celebrating sixty years of community action with our 60th Anniversary celebration. Join us as we reflect on decades of fighting poverty as Rensselaer County’s Community Action agency.
Community Action Day
May 14, 2025
May is Community Action Month for the more than 1,000 Community Action Agencies nationwide, and a chance to connect with the community even more than we do through our typical service model. This May we’ve designated one day for a number of activities, on Wednesday May 14th at our Community Resource Center Bridge we will be hosting a Spring into Summer Wellness Fair from 11am to 1pm with health and wealth resources, children’s face painting, a bike raffle, and free fresh produce and giveaways!
